Learning Through Action

Wesleyan attracts people who believe being smart is never enough. We want our students to be able to transform intellectual rigor into real-world action. That’s why learning through action is so central to the education and experience here.

Learning While Helping the Community

In Wesleyan’s Community-Engaged Learning courses students experience the real-world impact of their studies. These courses give students the chance to apply classroom theories to address the needs of community partners. Students gain new knowledge and skills while providing valuable services to community organizations.

Results By the Numbers

Wesleyan students have many opportunities to learn while simultaneously making a real impact in the community.

Explore the World—And Your Place in It

Wesleyan is a multi-dimensional, global campus, representative of our increasingly interconnected world—and that’s both important and intentional. We actively recruit and welcome international students to join us in Middletown, Connecticut, and we embrace the many cultures, traditions, and perspectives they bring to our campus.

We also encourage students across all of our disciplines to discover how they can pursue their academic goals in over 300 opportunities to study abroad. At Wesleyan, studying abroad is an integral part of your education. All programs we offer are carefully vetted by Wesleyan faculty and staff, financial aid travels with you when you study abroad, and credits and grades automatically transfer to ensure you stay on track with your plan of study.

Career Support and Guidance From Day One

From your very first day on campus to your life as an alum, our Gordon Career Center will be there to prepare you to succeed in the life you choose. We provide you with the tools you need to map out your future, step by step. It’s more than teaching students how to write a compelling resume — although we do that too. It’s about preparing students for their professional trajectory beyond Wesleyan.

This includes internship support and placement, summer grant opportunities, mentoring programs that connect alumni and students, support from career counselors and peer advisors, courses and programs to help students develop critical career skills, access to alumni and employer networks, job listings across a wide range of industries and long-term resources for alumni already well on their way.

Learn by Doing

At Wesleyan, theory meets practice. From the arts to the sciences, students immerse themselves in hands-on experiences that turn academic knowledge into real-world skills.
