At Wesleyan, studying abroad isn’t just an extra—it’s an integral part of your education. Every program is carefully reviewed by Wesleyan faculty and staff, financial aid goes with you, and your credits and grades transfer automatically, keeping you on track with your studies while experiencing the world.

Wesleyan Programs

Wesleyan offers three study abroad programs in Italy, France, and Spain in partnership with Vassar College and Wellesley College. These programs emphasize language and cultural immersion through coursework, planned activities, and the serendipitous discoveries that come from day-to-day living in a new city among new people.

Pre-Approved Programs

Wesleyan's provide students with a curated selection of study abroad opportunities that have been thoroughly evaluated by faculty and staff. These programs are offered through reputable study abroad organizations, other U.S. universities, or international offices at universities abroad, ensuring a high-quality educational experience.

Petition Programs

For students seeking unique study abroad experiences, Petition Programs allow you to propose programs that are not on Wesleyan's pre-approved list. This option empowers you to explore unconventional paths while still receiving guidance and support from the university.

Exchange Programs

Wesleyan’s Exchange Programs enable students to study at partner universities worldwide. Through these bilateral exchange partnerships, you’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in different academic environments while fostering cross-cultural connections with peers from around the globe.

Summer and Winter Programs

Wesleyan offers Summer and Winter Programs, designed for students looking for short-term study abroad experiences. These flexible options provide opportunities for cultural exchange and academic exploration, allowing you to make the most of your time abroad without a long-term commitment.

One of the best parts about studying abroad, especially in Europe is the ability to travel. Traveling between European Union countries and other countries in Europe is just really easy and accessible, and something I've never been able to do before.... And so one thing I recommend while studying abroad is to appreciate the place that you're in but also to use it as an opportunity to kind of get out there and see parts of the world that you haven't seen. 鈥�
