The Center for Pedagogical Innovation (CPI) invites proposals for funds to support student employees during the 2018-2019 academic year to work with faculty on pedagogy-related research or projects.

WebAIM Digital Accessibility Training
On Wednesday, October 31st and Thursday, November 1st, the Campus-wide Accessibility Compliance Team is offering a Web Accessibility Training, facilitated by WebAIM, one of the leading experts in this area.
The detailed schedule includes an overview of who should attend which session. In short:

Everyone who edits or maintains information on a website is urged to attend. This includes anyone who maintains a departmental website, a professional blog, handbooks and forms available to our users, and/or uploads content to be used in a class.

Everyone is encourged to attend the Overview session on either Wednesday or Thursday from 9-11 am.

Beyond that, the training is divided into workshops and everyone is invited to attend any and all of them.

Users who prepare documents for the web are encouraged to attend the Word and PDF Accessibility session from 11:30am-1pm on Wednesday or the Web Accessibility session from 11:30am-1pm on Thursday.

CPI Davis Grant
$50,000 Planning grant awarded to the CPI, by the Davis Educational Foundation, to investigate the development of competency in oral communications.
CPI Mellon Grant
The CPI receives a &750,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
CPI Innovation Grants
- CPI awarded grants to 11 faculty to support pedagogical innovation on campus this spring. These grants provide funding for faculty to attend teaching and learning conferences in their field, bring experts to campus, hire students to assist in coding examples for use in a course, and to purchase equipment that will enhance the classroom experience. Some of these experiences will be shared with colleagues through future ATRs and workshops.
